MatchMover or Composite looks for Maya licenses

You can tell MatchMover and Composite what license to use by setting these environment variables:

  • ADSK_MATCHMOVER_LICENSE
  • ADSK_COMPOSITE_LICENSE

For example, to tell MatchMover to use a Softimage license instead of a Maya license, you can set the ADSK_MATCHMOVER_LICENSE environment variable to “Softimage”.

set ADSK_MATCHMOVER_LICENSE=Softimage

The possible values are Softimage, 3dsMax, and Maya. The values are case-insensitive.

If you don’t know how to set environment variables in Windows, see this video (note there’s no audio).

  1. Hi there,
I am trying to get match mover going with my Softimage license and I have followed your steps but I’m receiving this error message,

    License was not obtained,
License Method; Cant determine license method
Product Choice; Cant determine product choice
    License file override;
Environment variable MAYA_ALT_EN is not set

Any ideas how I could get this to work?
    Thanks
    Pete

  2. Hi

It is possible there is a problem with your ProductInformation.pit file.
    C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ADLM\ProductInformation.pit

What versions of Softimage do you have, and do you have any other Autodesk software installed?

Maybe I could give you my ProductInformation.pit file.

The alternative is to uninstall and then re-install everything, to rebuild the ProductInformation.pit file. So, using one from a working machine (ie my machine) would be simpler.

  3. Thanks, Unfortunately it didn’t work. :(
Not, sure i’m up for a re-install as Softimage took a few days of back and forth with my reseller to get the license working. I think I’ll leave it for the moment.

Thanks for taking the time to help out though.
    Pete.

    • If you create a C:\flexlm folder, MatchMover should create some log files in that folder. Maybe they will tell us something…

      • This is what I get in the log file,
Strange still seems to be referring to Maya.
