Things have changed a little over the last decade or so.
Back in 1999, we had Sumatra/XSI 1.0 running on a Toshiba Tecra 730 CDT laptop (Pentium 150mhz, SVGA Color 12″ display, 144MB RAM, 3.7kg).
Fast forward to 2011, and we have Softimage running on an 11″ Macbook Air (1.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 11.6″ 1366 by 768 display, 4GB RAM, 1.07kg).
Update: On the Macbook Air, Softimage is running under bootcamped Windows 7.

Is the airmac running parallel, or is it native install to osx?

I’m using Bootcamp, so Softimage is running under Windows 7.
that’s as close as you’ll ever get to a mac version, enjoy 😛

They are Yamaha YST-M15 speakers. They weren’t new when I got them, so I have no idea how old they are 😉
How do you find soft runs on the MacBook Air? would you recommend the setup for a 13′ inch for example?
and the new macbook air with the intel hd 3000… does that mean the new air wont do?
