After my stay at Autodesk ended seven weeks ago, I never got to say anything like “I’ll be back”, because I never really went away. Posting here continued more or less as normal. But now, I’m back at work: today is my first day at Solid Angle SL as one of the Solids, as they’re [apparently] sometimes called 🙂
I’ll be working from my home office, with occasional visits to Madrid.
The workspace, all set up and ready to go…
Having an expresso and figuring out the Soft Lighting parameters…
awesome! Not sure if I can call you a “Solid” though…. you have gone from “Soft” to “Solid” very confusing hahaha
haha Soft to Solid, why didn’t I think of that!
How did your wife respond to the news that you’d be working out of the home office 24/7?
(assuming you spent some time @ the Autodesk offices before that…) 😉
She was jealous 🙂 I worked one day a week at home while I was at Autodesk; during the spring/summer/fall, I was happy to ride my bike to work. But during the winter, I took the train and I won’t miss that as much as riding my bike.
Very happy for you man, and working from home, hell yeah ! that is a great bonus. Imagine it more for people like me who have home at the other side of the globe, I am jealous and you are lucky, all the best.
glad you never left this blog 🙂
what will your job be ad solid angle?
Thanks! I’ll be doing technical support…I’m now a “Senior Support Engineer” at Solid Angle SL. Right now, I’m learning Arnold…
Congrats buddy. You deserve it. -manny
Congratulations on your new gig! They are truly lucky to have you as a “Solid”.
Now the true challenge: not making sweat pants your only clothing choice while working from home!
I wish you the Best Stephen, you have been helpful to me and others, and I hope it continues. I’m a little slow entering this type of work, I just hope it all works out 🙂
I wish that Arnold became public Beta so you could share with us same briliant tip&tricks as you do in XSI
So great to hear you’re on the Solid Angle team now, congrats Stephen! 🙂
Working from home is great! It was a one way street for me, never going to have a regular “job” again. Tons of family time. Never miss an event. Even “crunch” isn’t bad, because you get to eat your snacks and drink your coffee with loved ones. I think you will have good times ahead. Best of luck to you. Thanks for keeping this site going and for being a crucial front man for the Softimage community. Good stuff.
ya, glad to have you on the solid angle team!
that dog is cute.
Good luck on a new place, Stephen!
Hey Stephen, whats the monitor model you got on the right?
Good luck with your new job!!
The monitor on the right is a Dell UltraSharp U2312HM 23″
Awesome and congratulations!!!! Cute dog….
Thanks man! Yeah, Harley is cute, that’s her superpower…you should have seen when she was a little puppy 🙂
Congrats, I love Arnold
Hopefully, Arnold for XSI will become more stable 😀
is it that unstable?
Arnold is stable, just not generally available 🙂
Congrats on the job. Time to get a laptop and work in the garden.
That dog so cute, but it look into those eyes, it’s got naughty trouble written all over it. 🙂
I do have a MacBook Air, but since it’s late fall, I won’t be sitting out back in the sun for a bit…
Harley the dog is not so bad, but she does have a thing for socks 🙂
Well done Steven, good luck!!!
(hmmm… my stupid neurons…) good luck Stephen!
Congratulations to you man, come on
